I usually will send out invites 3 weeks ahead of time and if its just a get together of friends like 1-2 weeks. Although, I have invited friends over on 5hrs notice for dinner before LOL

It is a bit of a toss up. If I send too early, they forget. If I send too late, they already have something scheduled. That's why I've found two weeks about right. and if it is someone that I speak to regularly, I'll tell them well in advance so they can save the date.

Some sent invites  for a babyshower for me, a month in advance, and just about everyone forgot..so it was a little dissapointing lol

This year, I planned my LO's blessing for this coming weekend. I sent out an evite "save the date" first, then a formal invite with a month's notice. I think it made a difference to send the "save the date", although I still had to get in touch with a few people to see if they were coming.
