Who starts their flowers from seed?

 Do you have any success? I have tried 5 years in a row to grow wave petunias and I've got NOTHING! I'm at the end of my rope. Soooooo...I'm going to buy some plants next Sunday or the following.

How are oyu successful in growing them? Help please!

I don't really plant anything from seed. There are a few veggies I do from seed, but no flowers at all.

The only flowers we start from seed are sunflowers.

 I tried growing from seeds and it didn't work, so I just bought plants and they are actually thriving

I plant seeds and they always grow. Water in the morning NOT AT  NIGHT!

The plants we started from seeds aren't doing so well.  so we went and bought more mature palnts.

 Yes I started Basalms <sp? & they are actually growing too! I have no green thumb so this is my first year having plants out on my porch!

I have grown them from seeds with no problem. I sow thinly,  put a thin layer of soil over, water gently,  thin out when they are sprouted. But it is better to get plants, then you have immediate pleasure from the flowers.
