Did you get flowers this mother's day? Many moms do get flowers, and they range from big arrangements to small bouquets. I love flowers, especially tulips. Luckily, I live in an area where I can get fresh cut flowers pretty readily, pretty cheaply. I buy myself a small bouquet as a treat when I need some cheering up. I bought my mom a mother's day bouquet yesterday.
This article I found at Real Simple couldn't have come at a better time. They tested
7 myths on keeping flowers, namely tulips, fresh for a week. The myths they set out to debunk include adding a penny to the bottom of the vase, dropping an aspirin into the water, and stirring in a tablespoon of sugar. They even test adding bleach, flower food, and using plain old fresh water. They give you the run down on how the bouquet is doing 3 times over the week, and have great pictures with each myth tested that lets you see how the bouquets looked at the end of the experiment.
