Got Dandelions?

Dandelions are considered a nuisance by many, but to those in the know, they're a welcome source of free food. They're loaded in vitamins and anti-oxidants, and can be eaten from blossom to root. Now that's hard to beat!

Ready to give dandelions a try? Here are some great recipes:

I don't think I want to try eating them but my son loves playing with them in the wind.

I have had dandelion "meatloaf"  before.  It wasn't bad.

Dandelions have overwhelmed everyone's yard in our area this year. I have never seen so many in my life.

I knew they make wine out of them, but didn't realize all the other ways!

My 4 y/o loves playing with them, and has seeded our whole back yard. I just paid to have them sprayed.

I always wanted to make dandelion wine, but haven't yet, we sure have enough of them, they are good for you, fiddle heads are yummy too! :)

Here in Western North Carolina dandelion green sald is pretty traditional. I'm not the biggest fan... But in this kind of economy free food is always good.
