I don't know about you, but summer always brings me back to when I was younger. There are certain things that come with summer, which, no matter how old I get, will make me feel like a kid again. These summer must-haves tend to cross generations, and just as my parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts or whomever shared with me, I will share with my kids, nieces, and nephews.
Here's a few of my favorite summer must-haves that I'll share with my kids this year. Because for me, summer's just not summer without them.
Pink Lemonade: A tall glass of pink lemonade in a big glass pitcher with lots of ice. Nothing was more refreshing on a hot summer afternoon after playing outside.
Ice cream sandwiches: So simple, so delicious!
Beach blankets: We got to pick our own out every year, and I didn't go anywhere--park, playground, town pool--without it.
Backyard sprinkler and/or inflatable pool: Hours of fun, just running in and out of the sprinkler and splashing around in the inflatable pool.
Books: I used to love reading in the summer lying on the hammock. I could spend hours reading book after book on the porch. Even now, if I get a few minutes of quiet time to read a book outdoors, I feel like I'm a kid again with no worries in the world. It's something I definitely will pass along to my kids, too.
