Holiday shopping hasn't kicked into high gear yet, unless you are a very organized type of person. While Black Friday deals are still a few weeks away, there are some things it's smart to buy this month instead of waiting for the kickoff of the shopping season. According to personal finance website Wise Bread, now is a good time to look for deals on:
Current season clothing
I'm going to add outerwear; KMart has a great sale now with hats, gloves, scarves and selected coats at up to 50 percent off. If you have kids, buying an extra set or two of all their cold-weather accessories is a good idea, because they will get lost. And finding mittens in February is a lot harder than you would think (especially in my part of the world, where we're barely at winter's halfway point then!). Also, lots of churches and community groups have mitten trees and coat drives at this time of year; you can take advantage of a good sale and help someone else stay warm.
Are you one of those people who has everything bought, wrapped and tagged by the time the turkey hits the table, or do you get a thrill from taking Christmas shopping down to the wire?
