What with the economy still teetering, lots of us are looking for any way we can to save a little money during the holiday season. That's when you need to look for the deals that might be right there in front of you but that you're not seeing.
Take, for example, free shipping. It's still early enough that your perfect present can be on your doorstep before Christmas Eve. Gas prices are pretty ridiculous, so you might save a little bit by letting someone else pay your shipping charges...and let's not underestimate the awesomeness of shopping in your PJs over a nice hot cup of coffee instead of battling traffic and crowds. KMart.com has free shipping on orders over $49 through Dec. 19 with the promo code HOLIDAY.
There's also the "free gift card with a purchase of X"--whether X be items or a certain amount of money. Through tomorrow, KMart is offering a $5 award card redeemable Dec. 5 through Dec. 9 with a a $50 or greater purchase. Free money, my friends! Let's say you save a gallon of gas by using free shipping; that's about $3.25 where I live. Then add in the awards card or online credit...that's another $5 back in your pocket. So you're ahead $8.25 on things you were going to buy anyway!
Do you have any tips on finding hidden savings that help stretch your dollar?
Quoting mamivon2:I think Kmart is really one of the only stores who has great deals, coupons and such
i do exactly what you said...look for free shipping and discounts or rewards online
i shop at the stores but i go through Ebates or My Points to get to the store and get rewards back as cash or gift cards...if anyone wants a referral link...PM me :-P
price matching is great at this time of year. we just went shopping last night & picked up some action figures for my son. saw them this morning cheaper in another stores ad. i called the store i got them at yesterday & asked if they did price matching on items already purchased. they do so i'll be going up there today to get some $$ back. no allot but every penny counts right?
i always hit the clearance racks/shelves first in stores. you never know what you'll find there.
We don't even have a KMart anywhere NEAR Dallas. The closest one is in Oklahoma lol. They have great deals but I'm not really down for the commute lol.
I like to buy the Entertainment Book. It's the big fat book with all the coupons. That saves us a ton, because the coupons are for things we would normally do throughout the year anyway.
