In some counties of some states the Forestry Dept offers permits to harvest tree's from certain state parks. In Douglas county , Wisconsin it cost $5 for the  Permit which allows for the cutting and removal of one Balsam or Norway pine up to eight feet (8') in height from Douglas County forest land. Permit cost is $5.00 per tree with a maximum of three (3) trees per family per year. Permits expire December 31st of the year they were purchased.

Have you ever gotten a Christmas tree from a state forest?
