The holidays are stressful, anyone will tell you that. But there are ways to de-stress, and keep up your spirits. I asked moms how they keep healthy and happy during the holidays. Here's some suggestions.
One mom makes a lot of slow-cooker meals during the holdiaysl. She also makes big batch items that are easy to make two of, like two trays of veggie lasagana, freezing one for another night. Taking "prepping dinner" out of the equation, eliminates a good deal of stress.
Several moms said they like to go to yoga, the gym, and squeeze in short runs or walks outside. They said although its hard finding time to exercise, it makes them feel better when they do. (And helps ease the I-just-ate-another-christmas-cookie guilt.)
Another mom says she likes to listen to music, she sets up portable speakers in the kitchen so she can listen to her favorite music, not just holiday music because that gets to be a little much, but music that makes her happy or relaxed. Music can be like a mini-escape from the norm, as are books, which is what another mom said she does. She buys a new novel around Thanksgiving. During hectic days she looks forward to crawling into bed and reading a few pages, it helps her unwind and relax.
The holidays are stressful, how do you unwind?
shopping! :-) or just being able to have a little time to mysself
I love the christmas songs...They only come out for 1 month out of 12..So I GET MY FILL...lol...I crochet or make up a batch of candle tarts and burn them.....Can't forget my cuppa tea or candycane coffee....
