My Poor Stepdaughter

She called last night in tears(she lives with her mom 1200 miles away). Yesterday she went to the school nurse because her eyes were dry and really bothering her. The nurse went to put some drops in them and accidentally dropped the dropper in her eye. I guess her eye started spurting blood. The nurse got her cleaned up and sent her back to class! Wtf?! Well 20 minutes later she went back to the office because she couldn't stand the pain. The office called her mom, so her mom came and got her and took her to the eye doctor. The eye doctor said her eye looked like it'd been scratched up by a cat and there were millions of little scratches. He said that there is definitely permanent damage and she will probably never see very well out of that eye again. Wow. Poor kid, she's only 15. On top of that she is very upset over it, and if she cries the salt in her tears burn and make it worse. The doctor prescribed something for pain but their smallish town pharmacy doesn't carry it so they have to wait until the weekend to get it when they can go to a bigger city pharmacy.

The nurse dropped the dropper in her eye? Spurting blood? Then sent her back to class? and now she has permanent damage? I think I would be highly pissed!! There would be some pissed off momma at that school

WOW! Poor kid. I would be pissed. I hope that her eye heals okay and that she can get the drops she needs. I hope that nurse gets in trouble. It sounds like a freak accident, but so  much damage.

WOW...how in the world does that happen. I would not be happy at all!  It was a glass dropper?  Or plastic?  What had the nurse said or the school for that matter?
