Last night, the kids and I went out to enjoy the parades. There were 3 scheduled to roll on the same route.
I usually NEVER allow the kids to go to night parades on a school night, but made an exception due to rain being in the forecast for the upcoming weekend.
We enjoyed parade # 1. While waiting for parade # 2, I allowed the kids to cross over the barricade to collect beads and coins that didn't make it over. My baby girl (4 years old) needed to use the restroom at this time. I crossed the barricade to take her to use the bathroom and she was GONE!!!!! REALLY GONE!
It felt like the world stopped! I ran over to the police officer to let him know she was missing. I couldn't remember what she was wearing but I had taken a picture of the kids before the parade started. I showed him the picture. A massive search ensued! After what felt like 100 years she was found unharmed, almost 3 blocks away! A guy in the crowd noticed she was crying and grabbed her hand and led her to the police!
When I made my way to her, she told me "Momma you left me!" All night she kept saying that! I tried to reassure her I would never leave her!
I am SO SO SO Grateful the man who found her was honest and not a rapist or anything! Last night could have been the last time I held my baby in my arms! Thank God for another chance!
Wow! So scary. It is amazing how fast little ones can get away from us, especially in a crowd. I am glad that your little girl is safe!
Oh my god, that is so scary. I am sorry that happened. Glad she is safe now.
So glad she is safe and sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow.... very scary! ((hugs))
