Every year around this time Pantone announces the color of the year. It's the "it" color. The trendy color you'll want in your wardrobe and in your home. This year the It color is Tangerine Tango. Yes, for us non-designer types, it's basically orange, though a nicer, calmer orange than the in-your-face orange of the paints and crayons your kids are using. It will be showing up in everything from apparel to home items.
A great tip for making this trendy color work is to use it sparingly. Don't go out and buy a tangerine color couch, pick up a tangerine colored throw blanket or decorative pillow.
When it comes to your wardrobe, luckily color is in. And though Tangerine might not be the most flattering color on everyone, try it with basics, like dark-wash jeans and a white T-shirt. A fitted canvas jacket can really punch up an outfit, while not causing too much attention.
What do you think of the Pantone color of the year? What would you like to see be next year's color?
