Outside, the warmer temps hit. Inside, you look in the closet, head tipped to the right, a tad perplexed of what you should wear. The weather is fresh, it's sunny, it's warm. You want something new. You shift hangers around, rustle through piles of shirts...nothing is striking you. You have NewWeatherWardobeitis. It is a clinical term, friends, at least in my book.
The only cure is to refresh that wardrobe...but that can be pricy (and it isn't covered by insurance). Who else has a somewhat limited budget these days (I'm waving both hands)? When it comes time to get a few new items for the closet, I'm really hesitant to buy anything too trendy or and pass on anything that I can't wear with at least a few other members of my wardrobe family or for more than one season.
That is why I'm looking at the maxi dress as one of my Spring buys. Grab one with short sleeves or one with skinny straps. When they hit the stores a few years ago, I wasn't sure if the style was going to last, but it has and for good reason. The length elongates every body type. You can dress it up with snazzy wedges and long necklaces, or keep or low-key with cute slip-on sneakers. Add a long, cozy cardigan and boots and rock it in the brisk fall weather...or toss it on solo with flip-flops and survive the days of summer.
The maxi dress is seriously yummy medicine for what ails your closet.
Let me know if you have one in your wardrobe -- and if not, is there one you have seen that you do want to snatch up?
