I think those are some pretty good rules...I would also check his page often no weird downloads too because sometimes those adds on the sides could be spam.

4 moms liked this
I thought you had to be 13 (per the tos) to have a Facebook page.
I wouldn't let me 10 year old have a page. There's too many ways to get onto trouble and to hide things from parents.

Monitor the friends that he adds especially someone he doesn't know...delete any people he added that you do not approve of

Watch for use of bad language by others, inapproprate photos or links to websites he doesn't know...

Monitor stuff he downloads to his facebook page like songs or videos.... some are inappropriate for a ten year old.

Check his page often and make him delete anything that you feel is not appropriate...

My ten year old grand-nephew is on facebook and his mom has the password so she can check what is on his page,,,I have seen her delete friends he shoul not have..I hope this helps...

Last I knew, it was 13. A lot of younger kids have them though because the birth years get changed.

When we allow our kids to have a Facebook page, our rules will include what you have listed plus: We will have the password and full access to their page, their page will receive surprise checks, we will read messages also if we suspect something is amiss, if any of our rules are broken their page will be pulled and they will lose access to FB, if they delete messages and posts because they don't want us to see something they will automatically lose their page no warnings. (Trust me, between all the family we have on FB, someone would catch it before it got deleted, lol)

A couple of our kids are 13+ but none of them have a page yet because we are leary of the problems that FB can create. Even some adults can't handle their FB page properly. We want to make sure they completely understand why we can't have people friended that we do not know personally, why we can't give out any personal information at all that can get into the wrong hands (i.e. security breaches, friending people you don't know, etc). So much can happen on the internet these days, it really is scary.

None. He is too young to have a facebook IMO (The age anyways is 13). My son is 10 and won't be having one for sometime.
