When you see a funeral processional passing you while youre out driving, do you stop driving? Or do you continue on with your day, driving along?

So it was just brought to my attention that this might be a "maritime" thing. Whenever we see a funeral going in either direction while we are out driving.. we stop and let the funeral pass before we continue on. Its our way of being respectful to the mourning people.

I thought everyone did this, but today Ive heard that this might not be normal practice. Just wondering.

Most the ones around here are lead by police so you have to stop. I havent seen one in years tho.

I have noticed that in small southern communities, people are very courteous and stop and even get out fo their cars.  Where I live, the cemetary is on a major road.....no one stops, but the police do block the intersections so the processional can all stay together.

We always stop. I thought that's what you're suppose to do.
