Do you buy your SO/DH's mom a gift/card for moms day?

I get her a funny card and a serious card. I also give her a gift. She's a hard person to shop for.

We call the moms on Mother's Day.  I know it bugs her, but she's not my mom and if my husband can't think to pick up a card (and he works in a store that sells them), it's on him.  Really, I'm sure she bad mouths me for it because I have heard her bad mouth the other DIL's, but that kind of pettiness doesn't inspire me at all.  To me a card is a waste of money.  It's someone else's thoughts with a pretty picture on it and your signature.

I will but for petty reasons...I'm getting her a card and inside I'm going to have a picture of blue and red towels tied up with a rope and a note saying they have been towel napped and never returing...For some reason she got it stuck in her head that I stole her towels...not to use them or anything just to steal them. (yet the thing is her daughter..my SIL..had the towels in her trunk when she scrapped her car but told her mom I took them so she wouldnt have to hear her mom bitch) I know its petty but it really hurt my feeling that she thinks I stole from her and she doesnt believe me over her pill popping druggie daughter
