How can you tell when it's real and when it's put on?

ODS has been saying his knees hurt when he bends and gets on the floor. We recently moved (dh is injured in his back) and I recently had surgery and so we have been saying we can't do things cause we a hurting so I'm not sure if it's cause of that or real. How can you tell?

I think the only way to tell is when he is doing something he really likes, is he having pain then?  I'm sure he is just trying to get attention and it will pass.  Good luck momma!

I usually can't tell, I just go with the flow, sometimes I let them get away with it and other they have to do the chores, even through the pain

With my sons, I watch them and if it is put on I will see them moving and bending without  thinking and be fine.

He could be having growing pains.  My SD did and she was always saying her knees hurt her.  A warm bath and some Ibuprofen always helped her.
