"He wont eat plain oatmeal"

I'm not going to lie, some mornings I don't get up with DS, DH only works 3 days a week (full time though) so we switch off sometimes. I have a hard time getting to sleep at night, I usually lay in bed for 3 hours or so before I finally fall asleep which makes getting up at 7am pretty hard... Anyway when I  get up with him I usually make him oatmeal with a banana mixed in with it or something like that. Well the other morning we didn't have any bananas or cereal or anything when DH got up with him, alls we had was regular oatmeal and DH isn't really one to make eggs or anything... Anyway so when I got up an hour later I asked if DS ate the plain oatmeal and he said "yeah, once I mixed some brown sugar and maple syrup into it." I just kind of shrugged it off as a one time thing... but I made myself plain oatmeal this morning, and DS wanted a bite. He said he liked it and wanted another bite. I'm starting to think DH just put the sugar into DS's oatmeal the other morning before he even got to try it.. I'm just a little irritated about it I guess, maybe it was just a one time thing... but on the other hand DH knows how I feel about feeding the kid sugar first thing in the morning.

This. But if you're concerned, I'd talk to him about it.

Quoting LucyHarper:

We always put brown sugar in our oatmeal, a little brown sugar never hurt anyone as long as they have an otheriwse healthy diet.

Quoting tayanddyl:

My Ex used to put sugar on Frosted Flakes.  I never understood his logic

Quoting Schleetle:

I'd tell him to do cinnamon next time... Maybe your son just knows he get away being a little fussier with dad.

I can't stand oatmeal. Maybe he was just having a rough morning...
