Sibling ?

So I was raised an only child though I have two brothers (long story) so when it comes to siblings I'm kinda lost in a way. I asked DH and he said its normal and doesn't know why so I thought I would ask you ladies.

Is it normal for siblings to purposly annoy each other? If so why?

I don't get it.

Example: ODS (5) will purposly get in DDs (4) chair (plastic kid chairs they have their own colored chair they picked out) with a smirk in his face that he knows it's going to bother her and laughs when she says something to him. (that's just the latest example there are tons more)

TIA

My kids do that stuff all the time to each other. They either get along real well or not. When they are either tired, cranky or hungry, one will purposely push the others buttons just to bother them. They get caught, yelled at, and they have to apologize and it's over with.

Ugh. I was also sort of an only child- I do have one sister but she is 6 years younger than me, so we really didn't interact with each other at all.

My kids constantly fight and annoy each other, and my hubby says that's normal for siblings. He's the middle of 5, so I have to take his word for it.

I have no idea why things work out like that but my 13 year old SS annoys the crap out of my DD (she's 12).  I swear and I keep warning him that one of these days she is going to haul off and knock the piss out of him if he doesn't start leaving her alone.

I used to beat the crap out of my baby brother.... and he is 6'3. And when he was sleeping, I would draw on his face or pour cold water on his head. It is just fun.

My brothers and sister are much older than me. I was really young when all my brothers moved out and about 9 when my sister did. I was pretty much an only child and we are not close even still. My kids are 7 years apart and they annoy the hell out of each other, its normal sibling rivalry.
My sister has twins and a single that is 2 years younger. The twins got along well, but the younger and the boy always pick on each other

Yes normal.  both hubby and I were only kids-but my dad is one of 10 and says it is totally normal.  No reason for it they just do.  LOL.  We have 3 kids and see it all the time-ages 14, 11 and 8.
