I go to the dr to have what we think is a skin lesion removed from my breast and biopsied. My appointment is at noon.
Hope every thing went good for you.
Thanks. It hurt more than expected, they had to keep giving me more anesthesia. I am still quite sore but at least I'll have an answer soon.
I got the biopsy results back. Bsically they found no malignacy but I did have an infection.
SKIN LESION FROM RIGHT BREAST REGION, BIOPSY:
1. SKIN WITH FEATURES OF CHRONIC AND ACUTE FOLLICULITIS-PERIFOLLICULITIS
INCLUDING NEUTROPHILIC MICROABSCESS FORMATION AND FOREIGN BODY GIANT CELL
REACTION ASSOCIATED WITH FOLLICLE DISRUPTION (See Comment).
2. NO MALIGNANCY IDENTIFIED."
In thhe comments it reads "MICROSCOPIC EXAMINATION:
Sections show a dome-shaped segment of skin that contains a dilated apparent follicle structure, dilated and
filled with keratinous material, associated with fibrosis and dense inflammation consisting of epithelioid
histocytes, foreign body giant cells, lymphocytes, eosinophils, and some neutrophils focally. Neutrophilic
microabscess formation is evident. There is extension of neutrophils into apparent follicle epithelium focally.
Extruded keratinous material is present within the inflammatory infiltrate focally. Fibrosis and vascular ectasia
are noted in association with the inflammation. Malignancy is not
identified" I have noclue what all that means, I just know no cancer
cells were identified.
Yes.. The other results are also confusing, what I have seen so far (trying to understand) sounds like an ingrown hair. There is no hair on either breast, anywhere. None I can find at least. And this didnot present like any ingrown hair I have ever seen.
I have to figure that one out.
Quoting tayanddyl:Awesome! I know this must've been really stressful waiting for the results
Glad you got good news!
oh no, good luck!
