Since your dh is the main provider, the one who makes the money. How do you go about getting a gift?

Im a sahm and my dh brings in almost all the money. He tells me all the time that the money is OUR money, and not his. I do feel bad though, having to take money that he earned to get him a gift. Perhaps thats silly of me, but its how I feel.

1 mom liked this

We don't do gifts for Mother/Father day. We just go out to breakfast or make a special breakfast at home. Plus the parent whose day it is gets to sleep in.

I feel the same way. I usually make hunny a card. If there is something he really wants then he will just get it himself.

This is what we do.  He usually get's me cards from him and the kids, this year he didn't look and let the kids sign the card from him!  lol  He just signed the other one and we had a laugh about it, it was cute!  I sometimes will buy a card but I would rather make my own and the kids make theirs.  It's really not because of the fact that he makes almost all of the money, I just like to do it that way, it's more personal.

We don't usually do gifts, but this year we have a little extra to treat him with. We got him a G-Shock watch, (on sale) and 2 gifts for the kids to build and paint for him. I am in charge of the bank acct, (by his choice) so I am able to surprise him:)
