My 5 yo has been sick since yesterday with a temp between 101 and 102. I can get it down to 100 with motrin. She keeps complaining about her neck hurting. I have no experience with neck pain during the flue.. Ive never had it, nor have any of my other children. Is this a normal symptom to you?
No eating. But she did drink water. I gave her fruit/veggie juice last night and she puked it all up. She only wants to drink water.

Could be body aches is she eating and drinking OK?
Meningitis???? Seriously? I didnt even know that was an option.
Quoting Godspitgrl:
I was thinking the same as dixiegurl about the meningitis
Quoting KristinRox:
I checked her throat and from what I can see, it looks basically normal.

Her throat may be sore keep her drinking pediapops are great look in her throat for white spots. Hope she feels better
She does have a couple of those symptoms.. the fever, how quick it came on, nausea and vomiting, headache, stiff neck, and mental status changes. The only thing that looks out of the norm to me is the stiff neck. All of the other symptoms are normal with the simple flue as well.

The flu will give you some bad body pains...does the rest of her body ache too or just her neck?
