I think I may advertise renting one bedroom at home.but I am not sure if anyone would take it considering I have a one yera old.
is this common?
I don't know if its common or not but I couldn't do it. I don't trust people enough.
Idk.. it would be an inconvenience to the renter and to you. Probably not a good mix lol.
we live in a three bedroom apartment & have rented out our "extra" bedroom (the kids share a room) for the last 5 years. first one of my husband's coworkers stayed with us for almost 4 years then we rented it out to a woman in her early 20's. both loved the kids & didn't mind them at all. my husbands friend is the oldest of many & the woman that was renting the room also had younger siblings so they were used to kids. she moved out recently to live with her sister who is pregnant & who's husband is deployed.
we're planning on renting it out again once school starts back, my mom is coming down in two weeks & is staying till mid august. i don't think we'll have a problem renting it out again. wouldn't imagine you'd have an issue renting out the room.
Not sure how common it is but, I would say if you interview them and they are ok with it and pass a backround check then it's all good!
Agreed.

I would be very careful who you rent to but I have read that this is a new trend, since lots of people are struggling to keep their homes.
I would not let a stranger in my home with my kids
