I have a foodie question about marinating

Say I want to make chicken sandwiches w/ thin chicken breasts. And I want to make them with fajita seasoning and top them with peppers and onions. But I want to take the fajita packet and turn it into a marinade and let the chicken sit in it overnight. How would I do that? Google was no help.

Maybe just add some water or oil to the fajita seasoning packet and put it all in a bowl/ziplock bag over night.

I used about 1/4 cup of oil and the packet. I put it in the fridge this morning & plan to cook it tonight. I'll let you know how it turns out?

These sandwiches were great! I could have cooked the chicken longer and at a lower temp (I preheated the frying pan but it was too hot and my husband said it made a "skin" on the chicken breasts, but I didn't notice it)

Either dry or with oil

Put it in a ziplock bag.
