i'm starting to plan my daughter's 9th birthday party. she's inviting 6 girls, ages 7-10. to save on $$ we'll be having the party at our apartment. i've been trying to think of something that won't get the girls wound up & something different. i was thinking of doing a spa party & this is what i've come up with.
spa activities:
doing nails
hair streaks
facials (maybe have them help make facial masks)
make some sort of spa related craft; lip gloss, soap, etc. as part of the goodie bag
goodie bags:
ponytail holders/headbands
whatever "craft" they make
food;
fruit salad or sliced fruit & dip
cheese & crackers
veggies & dip
water & juice
mini woopie pies instead of cake (my daughter likes to do different things every year for the b-day cake)
any other thoughts from you wonderful mamas?
**after thinking on it a bit more i decided that i was going to get little make-up bags or such for the goodie bags. i'm going to but a little emery board in it, a headband & if i can find them the nail toe nail separators. we'll give them to the girls when they get to the party that way they can use the items in the bags when they are at each "station". when they leave they can add their home made lip gloss in & other spa goodies they get to the bags.
OK, my daughter will be nine soon too and I think this sounds like fun!
I'd be asking the girls' parents about the streaks...My girls can't get them until their 12 ....Great ideas tho...
Might need a permission slip for the hair steaking thing. My brother won't let my niece do anything to her hair color wise and she is thirteen. Just a heads up for other parents, you may want to check with them on that. The other ideas sound great to me though.

12? why is that? i'm talking about anything even semi permanant. i'm talking about the coloring for girls that comes in mascara like tubes & washes out. even seen one that was in a spraycan but had a comb attachment so you simple combed it in.

hmm, don't get it. it's nothing permanant, similar to halloween make-up & temporary tattoos. don't see why some would have such an issue with it.
