Quoting JenaSmith:
now this sounds like something good. Is it a certain amount they will automatically take out or i set it
Quoting sweetpea1269:
Set up an automatic transfer to a savings account, and don't count or touch it unless it is an emergency. Decide what constitues as an emergency and before "going crazy" decide if its a need or a want.
Quoting mrswillie:Second hand a n consignment shops are great for clothing.
Don't eat out. Do a bag lunch. Dh always takes his lunch.
Don't do tanning or nails. I paint mine weekly myself.
I hang dry clothes.
Carpool if you can.
Buy when things are on sale. School supplies, baby items, tampons/pads, etc. This way you get the lowest price.
Try generic. While something I don't like in generic, others are good.
don't buy clothes or toys new. shop at local consignment sales and at once upon a child if there is one near where you are. don't eat out if you don't absolutely have to. cook at home. and do not buy a car till you can either buy it out right and have no payments or till you can absolutely afford what the monthly payment will be.
I breastfeed only and cloth diaper. That has saved me tons!!
We have a cell phone that was added to another family member's plan and only pay $10 a month for it. No home phone, no cable. No eating out etc. We grill more outside now to keep the house cool so we dont always need to have fans or a/c on.
yard sales to sell everything we dont really need. Coupons have saved us a ton! following a blog that matches sales and coupons and such helps to save more too
