I went downstairs to get the baby up from his nap, and my son Liam started crying and freaking out so I ran back up and he was all red and saying "quarter in my throat!!" so I told him to try and cough and he couldn't get it out, so I gave him some water and he managed to swallow it down, (phew)!!

It scared us both for a second when it was stuck- but as long as he swallowed it down, there's no reason to call the Dr or anything right? It should pass right through?

Lesson learned about putting non-food objects in his mouth! (I hope! Lol)

**UPDATE**
I called the doctor and they had me feed him some plain bread to be sure it wasn't stuck anywhere, and to just keep an eye on him and call if he starts having pain anywhere.

**** we went to the hospital and got an x-ray. We go in for the results later this afternoon! He had some sharp pains this morning but is fine right now...

When I was small I swallowed a quarter and I had to get my stomach pumped because I had blockage.

He had some pains this morning, and feels all better now, but I have a call in to the nurse and I have a feeling they will have us go get x-rays

even though you already talked to the Dr i would still probably bring him in. my oldest swollowed a quarter when he was 6 and they took x-rays for a few days to see where it was and eventually had to put him under to fish it out of his stomach. the surgeon told me that when its a quarter that is swallowed its actaully pretty rare for young children to actually have it pass the stomach because the opening from the stomach to the intestines is pretty small. but if it does get to the intestines it has a higher chance of causing damage when it gets to the small intestine. so i'd probably go in
