I'm a pretty by-the-book eater. My kids, on the other hand? They will eat anything that appeals to them at any time of day. And it occurred to me the other day, when my son wanted pistachios and blueberries and my daughter wanted watermelon, grapes and cherries for breakfast that they're probably more on the right track than I am!
My son's favorite breakfast is peanut butter and jelly; today he asked for noodles. He's a horrendously picky eater, so if he will actually consume something that isn't 100 percent pure refined carb, he's likely to get it. My daughter is a much better eater, but she will often ask if she can eat the leftovers from the previous night's dinner in the morning.
And really, I am fine with that. Given my weakness for things like pancakes and waffles and pastry in the morning, they are getting a much better nutritional deal with their unconventional choices than they might get otherwise. And why is turkey and cheese on a tortilla, with pepper strips on the side, fine at noon but not at 8 a.m.? Eating "lunch food" for dinner or "dinner food" for breakfast is really better than a doughnut or syrupy pancake, from a nutritional and energy-maintaining standpoint. Right?
Do you prefer certain foods at unconventional times of day?
I don't give my family sweets for breakfast...ever. I'm a carb freak.
Me too. I'm on a cereal for dinner kick lately. I'm actually cooking food tonight I think DH is going to faint.
Quoting angieluvsolivia:I prefer pizza for breakfast and cereal at night! lol

Lmao! My dh is probably going to faint that I'm making something he likes. Lately he doesn't want anything, so picky, ugh! But, I caved and am making something he really likes tonight!!
