It is in your purse or diaper bag or car. It is always with you. Sure, you may have to rummage around for a minute or two, but it is there. It has to be. It's your must-have mommy item. Maybe you have one, perhaps a few, but you need them, you feel a tad lost without them. They are like your security blanket, your binky, your stuffed sockmonkey.
For every mom, that must-have is different, but I polled a few moms in my world, and here's a brief list of what they need to make it through their day:
-- Wipes: for sticky hands, snotty noses, spit-up in your hair.
-- Sunglasses: to hide lack-of-sleep peepers.
-- Mascara: to brighten those lack-of-sleep peepers.
-- Coffee: for caffiene. 'nuf said.
-- Band-Aids: to stop the tears faster than anything...except a treat.
-- A covert stash of treats: the last go-to when everyone is hitting the wall, a little treat is magical enough to stop the tears faster than Band-Aids.
-- A lone sock: to transform into a puppet when waiting for the tow truck, a cotton bag to hold a newly lost tooth, or any other random need. Right, there are many.
-- Humor: because you have to be able to laugh at it all, including yourself.
