Smarter Style: Scarf Savvy

It seems like we all could use a little help accessorizing, based on my comments. Okay, fashion students …let's move on to some advanced maneuvers. Namely, scarves.

Nothing adds color, panache and style to an outfit like a neatly tied scarf. But it is hard to figure out how to arrange them, how to tie them, and how to get them to stay put.  You can just let them hang, or wrap them once or twice around your neck. But it looks cool if you try some creative ways to tie them.

This video will show you 25 ways to wear a scarf in 4.5 minutes; this site has many more cool ways to tie all different kinds of scarves. I like the chain link one, and the multi-knot one (#3).

Of course, a scarf can work other ways too…tie it around your waist to emphasize a curvy figure, or knot one around the strap of your purse for a little flair.  You can even tie one around your head as a sort of headband or wrap one around a ponytail…no one will ever know your stylish look is actually camouflaging a bad hair day!

Do you wear scarves? What's your favorite way to use them?

I have one that I used to wear when I worked in an office.  Now my daughter uses it as a sling.

I don't usually do scarves. Don't pull them off well.
