I have an idea. Ive watched my gma and those quilting shows and I've looked in the quilting magazines. I know the steps of how to put it together, just haven't done it fully yet. The best i got was making the squares and sewing them together by hand. Now that i have a machine, I've thought about making one again. You know how in the fabric stores they sell those packs of scraps that are already in squares? I think those would be perfect in making the quilt because that's one less step to do

Do you know how to quilt or are you just learning as you go? I want to make a quilt but have no idea where to start.

Quoting hplesha:

Yes. Not very good, but i have made a pillow and started a quilt by hand. I got a sewing machine a couple years ago so i can start making clothes

Yeah, I know what you mean...I don't have all the bells and whistles on my sewing machine. That is the way I wanted it.

That's a good idea! Thanks. I have a sewing machine, I just have an irrational (maybe) fear of sewing my hand into something... why, I don't know. I'm thinking of buying an inexpensive sewing machine, that actually has the manual and all that and using it. My sister gave me the one I have and I find it to be very intimidating.

I don't want to do anything OMG or open a business, I'd just like to be able to make play dresses (which is supposedly SUPER easy) for my girls, maybe sew some other things...not sure what. Nothing crazy or fancy.

Watch you tube videos. :)

No, I want to learn how to though.
