Has anyone bought a house using this? How hard is it?
Any info will be helpful
never heard of it.. sorry
We just did it in December. You go through a regular mortgage company. The only part that is VA is that you have to give the mortgage company a copy of your DD14 (I think that's what it's called?)....the paper that says you were honorably discharged, how long you were in, etc. The mortgage process was the same as any other mortgage process (We're in our 50's, we've bought and sold alot of homes). There was a VA home inspection, but he was lax....which was okay with us, we had intentions of repairing some things. We bought in Maine, so there was no pest inspection. They can't live in the temperature here, so there are no inspections for them. They did require a minimal well water test, but we had a comprehensive one done, for our own interest. It's not a difficult process....any more so than a regular mortgage process. They do excuse some of the credit issues, if you have honest good reason.
