Smarter Style: Delicious Fall Color Combos

Posted by   + Show Post

It is perhaps my favorite season. Fall. When it is still warm-ish, yet, the breeze turns a tad chilly, you need to bundle up a bit more for that evening walk-about. You break out the boots and cozy sweaters, yet many weeks before we have to don those parkas and gloves. Ahhhh, fall. Yes, I love it...okay, I love it and the clothes. Every year, we see the "colors" of that season. What the powers that be in the fashion world deemed to be "in." And actually, the color professionals at Pantone have studied and queried the designers at New York Fashion Week for 17 years, discovering what color's we'll be seeing in store windows.

Here's what we'll be seeing:

French Roast (Pantone 19-1012): a deep luscious brown.

Honey Gold (Pantone 15-1142): a harvest deep yellow.

Pink Flambe (Pantone 18-2133): a perfect medium to dark pink.

Tangerine Tango (Pantone 17-1463): this year's color of the year, it is your "don't even think about calling me pumpkin" orange.

Ultramarine Green (Pantone 18-5338): a deep green with a mix of blue.

Bright Chartreuse (Pantone 14-0445): A deep greenish-yellow.

Olympian Blue (Pantone 19-4056): a solid blue that looks great on most skin tones.

Titanium (Pantone 17-4014): a great medium gray, with sliver undertones.

Rhapsody (Pantone 16-3817): a gray-purple hue.

Rose Smoke (Pantone 14-1506): a breezy light tannish pink

Almost all of these can be paired up, but I am dreaming of a Titanium cashmere sweater with a cozy scarf in Olympian Blue or maybe Honey Gold?

What are your favorite combos for fall??

Maybe it's just the light where I am, but the French roast looks more black than brown to me.

i don't really get into seasonal colors, well that's not entirely true i do love nature's fall colors. but for me personally my color tastes don't stray far from black & dark earthy tones, no matter the season.

I think a french roast cardigan with a honey gold or tangerine tango shirt would look fabulous.  I do like the titanium and rhapsody or rose smoke together too though.  Beautiful colors!

Ooooh!  I love the French Roast + Pink Flambe + Titanium + Rhapsody + Rose Smoke from above!   :)

I love a lot of colors, though.  We tend to do a lot of natural colors in the fall -- greens, browns, oranges.

I like purples, reds and browns. Orange is nice on other people but doesn't work on me.
