It's happened to all of us....we have a meeting in the morning that we're worried about, or our kids are up all night which means we are too, or we have a girl's night out and stay out too late. Then the alarm goes off wayyy too early, and we're confronted with a very haggard version of ourselves in the mirror.
How to make ourselves look perky, well-rested and dewy? That may be overreaching, but you can fake a more well-rested look.
Splash cold water on your face...you'll look and feel more awake immediately.
Put cold tea bags on your eyes, or try cucumbers, or a spoon you've put in the freezer for a few minutes. Cold defeats puffiness, and the tannins in the tea can also shrink eye puff.
Skip heavy makeup...use a tinted moisturizer or mineral makeup instead to brighten your skin without a masking effect.
Use an eyeshadow primer on your eyelids instead of shadow. Seriously, I just learned this trick and it goes SUCH a long way to making your eyes look more open and brighter. Curl your lashes and apply a little extra mascara....this also makes your eyes look more wide-open.
Use a peachy cream blush on your cheeks...it looks more dewy than powder.
If you don't have time to wash your hair, use a dry shampoo on your roots to absorb oil and boost volume.
You might feel awful, but you'll look reasonably good. And and soon as you can, get home, get into PJs, and try to get to bed!
What's your trick to getting through a tough day after a long night?
I usually splash my face with cold water, and then I grab a nap when I get a chance to.
CAR PICK UP LINE = NAP TIME!!! LOL Also a nice hot shower in the morning. :)
