I've decided...

My husband really hates how dependent we are on government/electric/grocery stores/schools etc...

So... I will be slowing making changes that are reflectie of his desires to do everything ourselves. I am getting a wash tub soon! Yes, a wash tub! I plan to heat up water and use soap nuts to clean our clothes. There is rarely ever any visible dirt. I'm comfy with this idea.

What do you do?

Oh! We are also hanging a clothes line.

I'm purchasing cloth paper towels, clothe diapers and wipes, finding organic remedies (hair, minor illnesses, etc) as often as possible.

My neighbor is also going to help me construct a garden.

So will you doing everything yourself? Making your own soap, cleaning supplies, etc? Could you shared on some recipes if you do. I would love to save on money and not have to depend on anyone. But I'm a single parent that doesn't get any help from anyone.

I wish I could use a clothes line but in the neighbor hood I live in it's impossible unless I want my clothes to come up missing.

Lol!

Why did you think it was a PA post?! I hate how unprepared we are. It makes so uneasy. I know the world isn't ending tomorrow, but I would like to know that if something happens, we will be ok for a while.

We aren't supposed to have one, because our HOA says it makes the neighborhood look bad. We are at the very end of the cul de sac, though, and get very few looky loos

I clean with vinegar, lemon, lemon and orange peels, and baking soda.

I do not have enough knowledge right now to make everything myself, but as I learn, I would be happy to share!
