Yes, we've turned on the heat. We've had a few nights in the mid to upper 30s.
We have electric now. We just moved here about 7 months ago, before we had oil. LOL, yeah right...we would NEVER turn on our heat in the fall! Not unless we had some crazy 30 degree weather. Actually, we did have an absurd snow storm in Oct last year, so I I should act like it can't happen.
We have a heat pump that is part of our central air. No, we won't turn the heat on until at least December (when it might finally get cool enough).
We won't turn it on for months. We have electric heat the goes on for maybe a couple of weeks a year.
The AC on the other hand gets used about 8 months a year.
We have central AC & heat and we also have a fireplace in the main living room. I also have a little space heater in my room because I need to be warm to sleep. Yes we have had to turn the heat on already.
