Jumping off Heather's awesome post from yesterday about things she wishes would come back (The West Wing, the feeling of opening a brand-new Harry Potter book, etc.), I got to thinking about movies of my childhood. This was spurred by a conversation last night with my seven-year-old daughter about the 30th anniversary of E.T. I was telling her how much I loved this movie and how sweet and emotional it is, and she loves the idea of space exploration so I thought she's be into it, but no. She completely missed the point and started freaking out about the alien part of it, but still. I will have my kids watch it at some point!
Here are some other movies from my childhood I can't wait to watch with my kids when they're old enough:
Star Wars (the original trilogy, none of this Jar Jar Binks business)
Goonies
Ghostbusters
Raiders of the Lost Ark
The Muppet Movie (I mean, "The Rainbow Connection", come on!)
The Breakfast Club (when they are much, MUCH older).
What movies did you love as a kid that you can't wait to share with your own kids?
I'm pretty sure they've seen most of them...
I watched a ton of Disney movies as a kid (and still do because Disney is the shiz-nit) we own most of them on DVD/blu ray. My kids enjoy them.
I never liked ET (don't judge me). My kids have seen all 6 Star Wars movies, A Christmas Story is a classic.
Can't really think of others right now.
Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, White Christmas, The Grinch, Polly, Disney Movies Little Mermaid, Aladdin, etc. and a lot more!
