Yes, up to a point. I have a set amount we want to try to stay within and do so as much as I am able. Sometimes if there is a sale, though, we might buy extra to reserve for DH's birthday which is in January. This year, DH and I are only getting each other small certificates that the whole family can use together so that we have enough to also spend on others. DS and I always make as many gifts as possible to. I also set aside money in an account just for gifts as I am able. This year has been harder because of unexpected expenses but at least a good chunk will already be covered before Christmas.
Quoting PoehlerBear1983:I only buy what i can afford. I dont do credit cards so i guess yes i do. I dont have a set amount in mind though its just what i can afford
i start out that way, then it all goes to hell midway through...LOL
Most years I kind of do. Our budget is usually really small so I get what I can on clearance and try to spend as little as possible on the rest. This year we didn't have a budget, so they got a lot more than they ever have from us.
