Carpet or Hardwood floors?

We chose them because all our Sons have asthma.

 My ten year old has reactive airway disease. (was born with one lung, has small airways, allergies....long story lol) We rent, so I can't just tear the living room carpet out :(

Oh no I'm sorry to hear that. My Sons have done much better since we got rid of our carpet.

 we had carpet.. but we have been putting down the locking hardwood since Jan of this year .. and yes its almost Jan of 2013 and its still not all down .. lol .
