Smarter Living: Great holiday tunes for your iPod

Much to my husband's dismay and annoyance, they have been playing since Halloween. Yup, Christmas tunes have wafted from the computer's speakers and bopped and dipped throughout the apartment...even while we were eating the candy goodies Kiddo scored on her outing dressed as Catwoman. I'm a sucker for holiday tunes. You know my obsession with the Charlie Brown Christmas soundtrack, and Adam Sandler's hilarious Hanukkah odes always put a little cheer in my step.

The traditional tunes and the jazzy ones from Chris Botti and Diana Krall are eternal faves, but here are a few new ones that are on my main playlist (the album name is in the parentheses):

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas  by Jim Brickman (A Grand Piano Christmas)

Santa Claus Is Coming to Town by Justin Bieber (Under the Mistletoe)

Christmas Tree (feat. Space Cowboy) by  Lady GaGa (Christmas Tree single)

Miracle by Matisyahu (Miracle single)

My Dear Acquaintance (A Happy New Year) by Regina Spektor (iTunes Live Session Performance)

Can I Interest You In Hanukah? by Stephen Colbert and Jon Stewart (A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!)

Winter Wonderland by Kate Havnevik (Winter Songs)

Sleigh Ride by KT Tunstall (Winter Songs)

Silent Night by Priscilla Ahn  (Winter Songs)

Nutmeg by Stephen Colbert and John Legend (A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!)

Frosty the Snowman by Kiki and Herb (Do You Hear What I Hear?)

It's Christmas by Rufus Wainwright

Silver Bells by Alice Smith  (Winter Songs)

Happy Holidays (Beef Wellington Remix) by Bing Crosby (Christmas Remixed - Holiday Classics Re-Grooved)

The Christmas Song by Catherine Feeny (Winter Songs)

Mistletoe by Colbie Caillat (Winter Songs)

Christmas Song by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds (Live At Luther College)

Mambo Santa Mambo by Dodie Stevens (Rockin' Little Christmas)

Please Be Patient by Feist  (A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!)

I Pray On Christmas by Harry Connick, Jr. (When My Heart Finds Christmas)

I'll Be Home for Christmas by Holly Conlan (Winter Songs)

It Really Is (A Wonderful Life) by Indigo Girls (Holly Happy Days)

In the Morning by Jack Johnson (In the Morning - Single)

Mistletoe by Justin Bieber   (Under the Mistletoe)

Drummer Boy (feat. Busta Rhymes) by Justin Bieber (Under the Mistletoe)

All My Bells Are Ringing by Lenka (Winter Songs)

Maybe Next Year (X-Mas Song) by Meiko (Winter Songs)

I Saw Three Ships by Sting (A Very Special Christmas, Vol. 3)

What are your favorite holiday tunes? Share your best merry merry playlist!

I really like the older Christmas "swing" songs...Sinatra, Bing Crosby...that style.  I have a station for that on my pandora and play it a lot at home :)

I love these Christmas songs! I really love the older Christmas singers though like Bing Crosby, Sinatra, etc. I love these old songs and grew up listening to records of them.

I found a Pandora station for it while we were decorating the tree, and my son loved it. :-)

We had it on record growing up, so I couldn't play that if I still had it... I think my mom has it, though.
