Our Tradition!!! We are the middle house in the cul de sac. We bring out the fire pit, TV, (for the countdown) and have a chocolate fountain, chocolate fondue, s'mores and hot chocolate.

Every kid gets an old pot and spoon to bang on at midnight and silly string to spray all over each other. Oh yeah and fireworks.

Then everyone comes in for a "champagne toast" (Martinelli's sparkling cider)

The kids invite their friends and they come in and play video games and stuff until it gets close to midnight

. Anyone in the neighborhood is invited. Sometimes we meet someone new who just walked up. It's awesome!!!

Mostly just relaxing.  I am planning a nice meal, though.  I realized I had another pork tenderloin in the freezer, and I'm trying to decide which recipe to use.  There is one I'm seriously considering, but I still want to look around in case there's something that sound even better.  Of course, we're planning to watch the ball drop as well.  Probably, most of us will watch at 9 pm (we're in California), but I'm sure I'll watch the replay at midnight.  Then, toast the new year with sparkling cider!

The way I see it we will all be having it pretty exciting this year.
Even the people like us staying home and hanging out with 6 of
our 7 kids, eating watching movies playing games and all that
good stuff......we survived the Mayans 12/21/12 end of the
world catastrophe!!!!
