right now she is 4 and while she goes to the elementary for Pre-K she can't ride the bus. However, even next year she won't because Kindergarteners ride the same bus with kids all the way up to 8th grade.

Just ride my bike arond the neighborhood with really no idea how far out I was traveling. I mean we would ride our bikes BLOCKS away. A completely different part of town. No way in hell though.

 walk around the neighborhood alone, play in the woods, ride without a seatbelt.

Walk the streets. Every weekend and at least 2 times per week, several of us kids from the neighborhood would walk about a mile to a small little convenient store and get a drink and some candy. We also walked up and down our street everyday and we were often out of our parents sight. I was ten years old dong this.

There is no way I could let my kids do that, not even my 14 year old boys and definitely not my six year old.
