How do you feel about...

Hip hop for a 6 year old? I have signed Ela up for 2 months of classes, but I'm not too sure I approve of some of the moves. I'm so old and out of touch though, I am trying to be more up to date with things for her.

Not for our girls. Im not into keeping up to date or in style with things in this day and time. Kids are growing up far too fast IMO and doing things way beyond their time.
I dont think you're old and out of touch, i think questioning some of the moves is smart..but im old fashioned lol... good luck!

1 mom liked this
Allie wants to take hip hop too. Our dance studio is really good in that they really try to do age appropriate dance moves and music.

My dd did some hip hop when she was in dance. Some of the moves were a bit old for her age.

I would go set in on a class before she starts.

Hip hop? Music? Eh sure. As long it's curse free.

Hopefully they will have age appropriate dance moves for them. Hope she has a blast.

This. I will put my dd in it when she is old enough.

I am ok with it.. i wanted to put my daughter in a class but she preferred ballet, so we just decided to do that.  I dont think there is anything wrong with the moves, just keep a close eye on things and if it gets to the point where you feel uncomfortable then explain how to do the dance differently. I think its a great workout :)
