Searching town history online?

Posted by   + Show Post

Hi ladies,

I am trying to find out if there was a lightening strike causing a death to a little boy (age 8ish) about 30-40 years ago in South Tampa, FL.

I have googled and tried to check the local paper, but their archieves online dont go back that far.

Any other ideas?

I'm mobile, but the second link down when googled has lightning strike deaths in Fl. It's a PDF.

from that pdf list

10 1970 - 1630 - Orange Co., Winter Park - Lightning killed an eight year old girl when hit by a
badminton pole dislodged by the lightning.

17 1951 - Escambia Co., Harold - A child was killed by lightning.

only ones I saw that were not in a group of people or way off by date. No names given though

Thank you. I didnt see it in there, but this was a great lead !

It would have been Hillsborough County. :)
