Let me guess: you were so busy helping your kids get organized for their class party, etc. that you forgot to actually do anything special for your kids or spouse? Been there (am there). But fear not, it's not too late! Here are some cute, fast last-minute ideas to let your little Valentines know you love them:
Valentine's Day breakfast: Butter a slice of bread, cut a heart shape out of the center of the bread and grill it in a hot pan: while it grills, drop in an egg and let it cook. Serve with bacon hearts (my husband would looovveeee these!)
Cute ideas using tech: The smart ladies over at Cool Mom Picks suggest making a Spotify (or iTunes) playlist of romantic love songs (or silly or sentimental ones for your kiddos).
You could also make a special dinner with something yummy but fast to cook, like flank steak with potatoes and a vegetable. It seems fancy but isn't very much work or terribly expensive...you can get away with less meat since you slice it before serving. Dim the lights, light candles, and serve your dinnertime milk or water out of wine glasses....and voila, you have as nice an atmosphere as the best restaurant in town!
What do you like to do with your family for Valentine's Day?
