I'm new to the group...thanks for allowing me to join!  I am most interested in learning how other Moms are making their family greener without breaking the bank.  Any ideas?

Welcome! I home make some cleaners and I recycle. We always get energy efficient light bulbs which are pricey but the difference is in your energy bill. With the ex period of installing dollar panels I think Eco friendly actually saves you money.

Well I do a few things to keep green

- Grow my own food

- Make my own cleaners

- Make blankets from old clothes

- Compost

- Make my own beauty routine items

- Ride my bicycle or walk instead of driving

- Utilize my public library system as much as possible including inter-library loans

- Reduce our food intake

- Increase our water intake

Just started making my own laundry detergent and I always make my own cleaner. We buy our local produce/veggies every other week from an organic buying market here in Florida too. It's kinda pricey so we only do it every other week.

Gardening in the summer is something in this vein that's pretty inexpensive. If you don't have a yard, you can always do container gardening with pots on your steps.
