My awesome J.Crew dress, that is. :(
It arrived yesterday afternoon and the tangerine coloring was gorgeous. It was so pretty. I was in love. Put it on, zipped it up, and I looked great. It fit... sort of.
I do a lot of strength training, so I have a muscular (not super muscular, but enough...) back. Because of that, the dress (a size 4) was really tight in the ribcage section. Not the bust... the bust fit. Just the ribcage area. It is fine for wearing for 15 mins. But to wear it all night and possibly dance a little with it on... that might get uncomfortable. It really needed maybe 1/4" of extra fabric around the ribs and then it would have been PERFECT.
It was already pricey, otherwise I would have taken it to a seamstress for that very slight adjustment. But, I did not want to pay more on an already $140 dress. :( Such a bummer... it was gorgeous. I tried to convince myself I could make it work, but then I decided against it. It's not worth being uncomfortable all evening for $140. It just stinks that it was SOOOO close to being perfect. Darn it. :( The dress is only sold online, and I would bet that the next size up would not fit considering the dress fit perfectly for every other part of my body. I returned the dress to the store this morning.
