Would you ever visit Dubai?

I was just watching a story on CNN abut  woman who has arrested and jailed after reporting a rape.  They charged her with having sex outside of marriage.

I guess there are other laws like no public display of affection.  Another couple was arrested for kissing on the cheek.

Giving someone the middle finger is also illegal.

Just curious if you would ever visit Dubai?

I would really like to visit Dubai. My good friend teaches there, and she really likes it in spite of the large cultural gap. There is a big expat community in Dubai in addition to the more conservative Muslim element, from what I understand.

Not really. It's nowhere to be found on my bucket list.

No. I would rather visit the classics like Rome, London, Paris, Marseilles, Bath, Constantinople, Tokyo, Venice ...

I can live with no kissing and the possibility of being raped then thrown in jail for it. But flipping the bird is a priority for me lol.

J/k. There about 1000 other places I'd rather visit. The Middle East in general is just not that interesting to me. I'd like to see Israel and Egypt but that seems overly stupid.
