I recently received a wedding invitation from my cousin.  She is marrying a man with two children from a previous marriage. Photos of all of them were included in the invitation.

In addition to the typical registry items (housewares,  kitchen gadgets, etc.), I was surprised to see a number of items for the children, including bedding, games, toys and clothing. Is this typical for couples with children who marry, or is this an abuse of the registry?

I've never heard of that. Seems odd to me, but I guess you register for what you need?

hhmmm... I mean, it seems like asking for a bit much to me, but I've not ever been in that situation. *shrugs* I mean, it sounds like both of them are well into their adult years, so they probably already have towels and dishes, but I bet those are on the registry too. lol I guess since they're beginning their new home as a family, it makes some sense. :)

I think adding a few things is acceptable. Making the entire registry about your child(ren) is unacceptable. There should be more things for the wedding couple since it's really about them.

I normally always get a small gift for the couple's children when they marry.

I don't think it's appropriate. Just like I don't find honeymoon funding to be appropriate. Thats all stuff that should be and should of been taken care of by the groom/bride already. It's no ones responsibility

I think asking for toys and clothing is not appropriate.
