As long as everything goes ok.  Closing day is in November.  We are buying a really cool 1920's home and it's been kept up pretty nicely.  We will have to carpet the place, and I was wondering if anyone has ever installed their own carpet?  I did a bathroom once for really cheap, and I was thinking that's what I am going to do with this place.  Every room may be a different color but that might be cool!

Also, the entire inside needs to be painted.  Anyone have luck with any non toxic brands of paint?  What did you use?

We have a place in our city called construction junction, they sell donated and reclaimed building materials- boatloads of carpet, tile, etc. They also sell a brand of paint called Amazon Recycled Paint, which we've used and love. These kinds of places are great for finding stuff to restore the character and charm of older houses especially, you should see if your city has a place like it!

Congratulations!! If you know what you're doing I would totally lay your own carpet. Soooo much cheaper, that's what we're doing :)

Congratulations!  We went to Lowe's and they have a brand that has no VOC's.  It was the same price as the other brand.
